Information collected from other people or organisations
Where practical, we collect personal information directly from you.
In some circumstances, however, we may receive personal information about you from another source. For example:

someone authorised to act for you may contact us;
-
a service provider may supply information necessary to complete a transaction or operate an account;
-
information may be provided as part of access, licensing or organisation administration.
Where the Privacy Act requires us to notify you about information collected indirectly, we will take reasonable steps to do so unless an applicable exception applies.

We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for these purposes.
Whether you have to provide information
In many cases, providing personal information is voluntary.
However, some information is necessary if you want to use a particular service.
For example, we may not be able to:
-
create or maintain an account without the required account details;
-
provide paid access without information required to process and administer the transaction;
-
investigate a support request without enough information to identify the issue;
-
respond to a privacy request without enough information to verify or understand the request.
Where information is required for a particular purpose, we aim to make that clear.
Cookies and similar technologies
Lived Journey uses cookies and related technologies where necessary to operate the website and provide its services.
We use Usercentrics for Wix to manage consent choices.
Essential technologies may operate without optional consent where they are necessary to provide the website or a service you have requested.
Optional technologies that require consent will remain disabled unless you choose to enable them.
At the time this policy was last updated, our review of the Lived Journey application identified no active advertising or behavioural-marketing tracker within our own application components.
If we introduce optional analytics, marketing or other consent-dependent technologies in the future, we will update our privacy and cookie information and request consent where required.
You can review or change your privacy choices using the privacy control available on the website.
See our Cookie Policy for more information.

We do not sell personal information
Lived Journey does not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
We do not currently use personal information collected through the Lived Journey application to build behavioural advertising profiles.
Organisations and group access
If you use Lived Journey through an organisation, some account or access information may be visible to an authorised administrator for that organisation where necessary to manage licences, seats, access or participation.
We aim to limit organisation administrators to the information reasonably necessary for those administrative purposes.
Individual educational or personal information will not be shared with an organisation merely because that organisation arranged access, unless that sharing is necessary for the service, authorised by you, clearly disclosed, or otherwise permitted by law.
Overseas service providers
Some companies that provide services to Lived Journey operate or store information outside New Zealand.
This may include technology, hosting, communication, consent-management or payment service providers.
Where personal information is processed or disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the relationship and the applicable Privacy Act requirements to ensure that the information continues to receive appropriate protection.
Different rules may apply where an overseas provider is processing information on our behalf rather than receiving it for its own independent purposes.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against:
-
loss;
-
unauthorised access;
-
misuse;
-
alteration;
-
unauthorised disclosure;
-
destruction.
Our safeguards may include access controls, authentication, platform security features, permissions, secure service providers and operational controls.
No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a privacy breach that has caused, or is likely to cause, serious harm, we will respond in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act, including notifying affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where required.
How long we keep personal information
We do not keep personal information longer than is reasonably required for the purposes for which it may lawfully be used.
Different information may need to be retained for different periods.
For example, we may retain:
-
account information while an account remains active and for an appropriate period afterwards;
-
transaction and financial records where needed for legal, accounting or business purposes;
-
support correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve issues and maintain appropriate records;
-
privacy or consent records where needed to demonstrate and administer privacy choices;
-
security records for an appropriate period to investigate or protect against misuse.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or otherwise dispose of it appropriately.

The current version will be published on this page with its last-updated date.
If a change materially affects existing privacy choices or consent, we may provide additional notice or ask visitors to review their choices again.
